Description
The Grade II-listed Pimple was built in 1914 on the edge of Dartmoor on Whitchurch Down, near Tavistock. Its name comes from the stone apex at the top of its roof. Built of Hurdwick stone with a slate roof & Wooden benches around its walls, where people can visit & enjoy the stunning views over Dartmoor & into Cornwall. This little building was built over the entrance to a reservoir on Whitchurch Down, Dartmoor Tavistock.
This little building will not be of much interest to any but those that live near here. This was a very cold night, near to a frost & the old fingers were not working so well with the cold. There is no illumination here, everything was pitch black apart from the sky (moon). This was a long exposure with a very small aperture, and the exposure was a bit of a guess, but once I open the shutter I ran around the Pimple with my hand held flash gun firing it on all sides of the building. Well, it did keep me mostly warm. The orange glow in the sky is from light pollution from Plymouth
